An overview of Marcel de Buenos Aires | A Large Holiday Home in the heart of Buenos Aires

Marcel de Buenos Aires is an original 19th century rental property, a typical porteño ‘casa chorizo’, which has been lovingly restored to comfortably sleep up to 22 guests. Traditional features have been enhanced with modern fittings to make MARCEL a luxurious, cozy and comfortable place to stay for groups or individual travelers. With its thick walls, Marcel is a heaven of peace in the noisy city Buenos Aires can be. Exposed red brick ceilings, wooden furniture ( some are made of recycled wood ), white linen sheets and bio-degradable cotton towels, eco-friendly bath accessories …

Rooms, 9 in total,  are divided over two floors and each of the rooms features a private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Each room can sleep up to 3 persons, one even 4.

The 50 square-meter ‘salon’ on the first floor is ideal for groups planning to organize in-house activities. E.g. Tango groups will be delighted to have classes on its beautiful wooden floor .

The second floor has a large fully equipped professional kitchen for groups who wish to self-cater. Meals ( also gluten free, lactose free .. ) can be provided upon request.

On one side of the kitchen is a terrace with a small swimming pool, a parilla, lounge chairs and design umbrellas. The other side of the kitchen features a terrace with round tables and chairs and a fine umbrella for a nice Summer chat, a drink or meal.

Guests can find some shade on hot Summer days on the patio downstairs whilst enjoying a drink or snack from the annex in-house cafeteria & bar.

There is free WI-FI in the whole building. Sheets and towels are provided for.

Upon arrival all guests will receive a nice welcome package in order to enhance their stay with us.

No smoking inside. Pets are allowed upon request. Sleeps 22. Parking for cars opposite the hotel and/or nearby ( please ask for rates ). Gay & lesbian friendly property. No elevator.

Strategic Location

While MARCEL might not sit in the chic barrio of Palermo or the historic and touristic hotspot of San Telmo, with the subway ( Venezuela on line H , which combines with 4 out of the 5 other metro lines )  just around the corner and several bus stops too, it is extremely well located to explore the city .

The International Airport Ministro Pistarini ( Ezeiza ) is a short 35 minute drive away and access to the nearest highway only 5 minutes.

Restos, Bars & Sightseeing

MARCEL sits in the commune of Balvanera, walking distance from the Congress Building, cinema GAUMONT, the Basilica de Santa Rosa de Lima, the Palacio Barolo, the Art Nouveau – Art Deco district.

You might want to try the bares notables ( bars protected by law ) Bar de Cao, Café Margot, Café de Los Angelitos, just to name a few. When soon La Confiteria el Molino ( next to the Congress building, re-opens its doors, the finest place for pastry will like just ‘around-the-corner’

Ichisou serves amongst the best Japanese food in town. Super Boys’ excellent pizzas are brought to your door free of charge whereas Glovo, Rappi and Pedidos Ya will bring you food from all over the city at a minimal charge.
